6-WEEK 5K TRAINING PROGRAM

Starting on March 31st, The Des Moines Women's 5K Training Program is a 6-week training program that will include a coach, Saturday morning social runs, a training program and the tools to successfully cross the finish line of your first 5K or get that PR you've been reaching for. 

Registration for this program is limited and expected to fill up quickly.

Wife, mom of 2 mini gentlemen & Triathlete. In 2011,  I joined a relay team as a runner  for the HyVee 5150 Triathlon. For three years I watched in awe of these people. I watched a friend dedicate herself to getting up early or staying up late to get her swim, bike and runs in. It was truly amazing. I wanted to be her. So I made a choice. I am going to do just that.  Be. Her. 

I'm excited to be a part of the DMW5K training for 2018. Women need women. Women need strong, empowering, encouraging women. We need to be fiercly pushed by each other. We need to be a part of each others journey and not a roadblock. We need those "hers" in our life to push us out of our comfort zone.

I love running. There is peace in this sport. I love cheering beginners on. I love seeing people set goals and crush them.  You get to be that fierce woman that set the goal and is taking the steps to make it happen alongside other Des Moines women. I'm looking forward to being a part of some new journeys this spring so we can go train for a 5k and then you can cross that finish line and say, "I am her!
